Hero Squad is gearing up for a guild-wide Secret Santa. The premise is pretty simple. Guldies can sign up here in this thread. Next week they will receive the name of the person they’ll be giving a gift to. Sometime between that point and December 31st, they can secretly give their gift and also expect to receive a gift.

Just when I think WotLK progression is over and done with, the guys go ahead and polish off a new boss.

A 10-man team went into ICC last night and tonight a worked through LK10-hardmode. Kungfoo is back from his summer of international mystery and intrigue. He teamed with with Holy[clicker]Cor’s strangely spelled alt ‘Nerkomancer’ to do warlock stuff to the King of Liches, Potsu and teeArthas represented Canada, Muerte and Bones represented the Asshole thread from our forums, Shavy and Ellionwy healed bitches, and Henq stopped leveling alts long enough to actually run a raid. Oh, and Score was there too not being a clicker, asshole, healer or Henq.

When I was in high-school I used to see this hardcore band named Bane all the time. They really weren’t all that good, and don’t relate to this boss kill in any way, but I’m still gonna link to them in this post.

Tuesday night we managed to knock off yet another achievement for most of the guild. Didn’t take any motivational speeches by marty$ or much else else other than a few laid back raid nights. Neck-Deep in Vile really should be re-named Neck-Deep in a Raid with No Melee. We had heard that whenever you get a new mount it’s required that you head to the well in Dalaran and float there till the end of time, so we instructed our raiders to get their asses over there and hover, hover, hover.

Assuming hell doesn’t freeze over or the nerf-bat stays away from the Lich King hardmode, this will probably be the last progression update you’ll hear from us in Wrath. Last Thursday Henq’s Heroes got together to dance around blocks of ice, and managed to kill the boss with the most annoying mouth in the history of voice acting. We dicked around for most of the night, then finally, Muertedolores called everyone in the guild fat, which was all everyone needed to hear. The Heroes held hands and pranced around blocks of ice, and eventually the dargon got all big and red, and Henq killed her with his bare hands.

So begins our first game of the 2010 Hero Squad Sealed Chest Extravaganza. This game will have our raiders traveling around Azeroth completing odd tasks, doing some sightseeing, and more than likely getting themselves into a bit of trouble. At stake is a chance to take home an item of their choosing from the Sealed Chest.

In the next few weeks our resident DPS DK, and all around nice guy of the year, Sog the Destroyer will complete Hero Squad’s first Shadowmourne. As you probably have heard by now, when Shadowmourne is created Sog will be given a quest that awards 5 rare and unique vanity items:

• Reins of the Crimson Deathcharger – Pretty kick-ass mount. Red colored and looks like the Death Knight’s class mount.
• Tabard of the Lightbringer – A tabard with a bright glowing on-use effect
• Muradin’s Favor – Transforms you into a Frost Dwarf for 10 minutes.
• Jaina’s Locket – Opens a “mage portal” to Dalaran
• Sylvanas’ Music Box – A music box that plays Lament of the Highborne and spawns two lady ghosties.

As a sort of “Thank You” to our raiding core, many who have been slogging it out with us in Icecrown Citadel since December, we’ve decided to make these items available to our our raiders.

Rather than just choosing from our favorite people in the guild, or using some boring random /roll method, we’ve decided it would be fun play some games, with the winner and runners-up of these games being awarded this loot.

The games will have our members roaming all over the World of Warcraft. Possibly humiliating themselves. Perhaps begging for help from anyone who will listen. Probably getting themselves killed in ways that will have the passer-by scratching their heads.

Lich King, Chicken Wing! What the hell does that even mean? Who knows? Whatever it means, it sounds awesome and we’ve all been saying over the past few weeks. Tonight we got our Lich King kill, and I’m still waiting on my reward of chicken wings. This kill was a ton of fun, and our boys and girls put in a decent amount of time on it (mostly watching the beginning RP over and over then jumping off the platform just so we could see it again… ITS THAT GOOD!!). We had some pretty hilarious wipes along the way. My personal favorite was the one where Kevin showed us what ‘fat fingering’ disengage looks like, and I immediately followed that up with trying to find out what frost orbs smell like (they smell amazing btw, if you get a chance, get up close and sniff one). Aski also was kind enough to show us what happens when you get DI’d juuust over the edge of the platform. So, great jobs HSers, and hard-modes… we’ll see you next week.

We knocked out our first set of 10-man Bone Dragoons tonight. Majority of the run was pretty uneventful. Kevin ate Papa Johns, and Shavyah made a sandwich. Sindragoosa was right, we really were fools to have come but Henq and Veroth showed us how real men take tail swipes and made everything alright. So that’s about it. Guess we’ll see you above Northrend (or at least until Potsu figures out the way to walk his dragon around Dal)!

Hero Squad’s favorite boom-chicken with a name not ending in ‘baka, and chairwoman of the ‘Toon Name Is My Real Name’ club, has been hard at work coming up a sweet new video intro. She managed to put it to good use right away, capturing the guild first kill of the bone dragon known to Shavyah as Sindra-grossa. Amazingly, Henq managed to land most of his taunts, Kevin did not disengage out of harm’s way-into harm’s way, and Potsu did not DC while already DC’d… it was actually a fairly clean kill for us!

Went in the other night and knocked off the Lich King. Thanks to Fordring for all the help. Don’t bother bubbling out of that ice block bud, we got this.  Apologies to everyone leveling in Northrend for creating Defiles so huge that they blotted out the sun.
